Rausch was a rock band from Cologne , founded in 1987 as Mush and The Room and renamed Rausch in 1988 - inspired by Timothy Leary .

The band around singer Peter Sarach became known among other things with the 1991 legally forbidden and often pirated motif “ No power to the stupid ” (a fake on the Federal Ministry of Health's motive “No power to drugs”) and actions for the release of hemp .

Their debut album Rausch was released in 1989 , and the band supported The B-52’s on their European tour. In the same year the band was awarded the Ruhrrock Prize.
