Raven Henley

Raven Henley (* 1986 in Husum ; real name: Patrick Henselin) is a German rock musician .

Life

Patrick Henselin grew up in Husum on the North Sea . In mid-2006 he began performing cover versions on YouTube with acoustic guitar under the pseudonym Raven Henley . When he covered the song "She kicked your ass " by the band Frei.Wild , he caught the band's attention. This brought him as the first signing to the recently founded label Rookies & Kings . He was also able to accompany Frei.Wild on their tour to the album Gegengift in 2010 together with his band Raven and the Henleys .

On October 15, 2010, Raven Henley's debut album Direction Fate was released . Philip Burger (Frei.Wild), Markus Stein ( Serum 114 ) and Joachim Bergmeister ( Untouchable ) participated as guests on the album. The guitars were played by Walter Unterhauser and the drums by Markus Engel ( Rock Rotten's 9mm Assi Rock'n'Roll ). The lyrics were written by Burger, Unterhauser, producer Alex Lysjakov and Henley.

In 2010 and 2011 he played at many festivals in Germany, including GOND and Ehrlich und Laut. After Henley canceled his contract with Rookies & Kings in 2012, there was a break until mid-2018, but then Henley returned together with Unterhauser. The album From Here to Home was released in 2019 as an in-house production.

Music genre

Musically, Raven Henley calls his music “German Count Rock”, which is German-speaking rock that draws on a number of inspirations, including country rock , Irish folk , metalcore , medieval rock and the entire spectrum from the 1960s to the 1980s Rock falls back. Henley's musical style was compared in particular with Johnny Cash & Frei.Wild, but also with Die Toten Hosen and Die Ärzte .
