Ray Fisman

Raymond "Ray" John Fisman (born January 29, 1971 ) is an American economist and columnist .

Life

Fisman studied economics and mathematics at McGill University (Bachelor, 1993) and Economics at Harvard University (Master, 1996; Ph.D. , 1998). From 1998 to 1999 he was a consultant at the World Bank . He then worked at various research institutions and received multiple funding from the National Science Foundation . From 2005 to 2006 he was a research assistant at Harvard University. Since 2007 he has been the Lambert Family Professor of Social Enterprise at Columbia University in New York. He is also a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research . He has published in such journals as: The American Economic Review , Journal of Political Economy, and Quarterly Journal of Economics . He is also a columnist for Slate magazine.
