Ray Musto

Raphael John "Ray" Musto (born March 30, 1929 in Pittston , Luzerne County , Pennsylvania , † April 24, 2014 ibid) was an American politician . In 1980 and 1981 he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Ray Musto attended public schools in his home country and then Pittston Township High School until 1946 . During the Korean War , he served in the US Army from 1951 to 1953 . In 1971 he graduated from King's College in Wilkes-Barre . Nothing is known about his activities after his military service. Politically, he became a member of the Democratic Party . Between 1971 and 1980 he was a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives .

After the resignation of MP Daniel J. Flood , Musto was elected as his successor to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC at the by-election due for the eleventh seat of Pennsylvania , where he took up his new mandate on April 9, 1980. Since he was not confirmed in the regular congressional elections of 1980 , he could only end the current legislative period in Congress until January 3, 1981 .

Ray Musto served in the Pennsylvania Senate from 1983 to 2010 . During 2010 he came into conflict with the law. On November 23, he was charged with bribery. He pleaded not guilty. The process is still ongoing.
