The Rampur Raza Library ( Hindi : रामपुर रज़ा किताब ख़ाना, Urdu : رام پور رضا کِتاب خانہ Rāmpur Razā Kitāb Khāna) in Rampur , Uttar Pradesh is a public library of Indo-Islamic culture and a source of knowledge for the past decades. The library was built in the 18th century by the successive nawabs of Rampur and is now administered by the government of India . It contains very rare and valuable collections of manuscripts, historical documents, copies of Islamic calligraphy, miniature paintings, astronomical instruments, and rare illustrated works in Arabic and Persian . The library also contains printed works in Sanskrit , Hindi , Urdu , Pashto (with the original manuscript of the first Quran translation in addition to other important books / documents), Tamil and Turkish , and around 30,000 printed books (including magazines) in various other languages.
