The passenger cars BC 2 1–2 of the Régional des Brenets (RdB), officially Compagnie du Chemin de fer Régional des Brenets , belonged to the initial equipment of the vehicle fleet of the meter-gauge railway line Le Locle-les Brenets , opened on September 1, 1890 , which is now used by transports Régionaux Neuchâtelois (TRN) is operated.
The passenger cars correspond to a design which was delivered in the 1880s and 1890s by the then Swiss Industrial Society (SIG) in Neuhausen am Rheinfall in a similar design to various narrow-gauge railways in Switzerland . The structure, consisting of a sheet-metal wooden car body and an only slightly arched roof, is built on a steel chassis with fish-bellied longitudinal members. The furnishings included retractable wooden frame windows, steam heating and kerosene lighting , which was later replaced by acetylene gas lighting .
While car 1 was canceled in connection with the renewal of the railway line and its electrification in 1950 after the acquisition of new electric vehicles for passenger and luggage transport , car 2 is in the care of the Blonay – Chamby (BC) museum railway . Before that he was subordinate to the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) in Vallorbe for a long time . It was originally intended for the Swiss Railway Museum planned at the time, today's Swiss Museum of Transport (VHS) in Lucerne.
