Reasi is a small town ( Municipal Committee ) in the south of the Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir .

It forms the administrative seat of the district of the same name . In the 2011 census, the population was 7796.

The city of Reasi is 40 km north of Jammu in a narrow area between Pir Panjal in the north and the Siwaliks in the south at an altitude of 519  m . The river Chanab flows west past the city in a south direction.

The climate in Reasi is determined by the monsoon in the summer months of July and August . The average annual precipitation is 1320 mm.
