Schönbrunn is part of the Floß market in the Upper Palatinate district in the Neustadt an der Waldnaab district .

Geographical location

Schönbrunn is located about two kilometers southeast of Floß on the southwest slope of the 592 meter high beech hill on the road from Floß to Würzelbrunn.

history

14th to 16th century

The Schönbrunn family was based in Schönbrunn. Ulrich von Schönbrunn is mentioned in 1317 as the owner of a property in Vorbach. The Schönbrunners had a coat of arms that was similar to that of the Kleissenthalers. They owned property in Schönbrunn near Floß and in Erbendorf. The Heckel family (also: Häckel) followed them in both places through Konrad Heckel in 1330 and 1340. Until around 1400 the Heckel lived in Altenstadt - Erbendorf .

In the Salbuch of 1598 9 teams, 4 courtyards, 4 half-courtyards and a small Gütel were listed for Schönbrunn.

17th and 18th centuries

During the Thirty Years War in 1620 and 1621 the Mansfeld soldiers marched through Schönbrunn. They robbed the farmers of money, cattle, grain, food, clothing, linen, beds, copper pans and pots, tools, weapons, etc., fished the ponds, and burned and destroyed the farms. A damage list for Schönbrunn from 1621 showed a total of 713 guilders and 44 cruisers.

In 1792 there were 8 officials in Schönbrunn. By 1800 Schönbrunn had 10 houses and 68 residents.

19th century to the present

The Schönbrunn tax district was formed at the beginning of the 19th century . In addition to Schönbrunn, the Schönbrunn tax district also included the villages of Hardt and Haupertsreuth and the hamlet of Würzelbrunn. The Schönbrunn tax district had a total of 241 residents and 34 residential buildings.

The rural community Schönbrunn consisted of the villages Schönbrunn, Boxdorf, Hardt and Haupertsreuth and the hamlets of Kühbach and Würzelbrunn. The town of Schönbrunn had 66 inhabitants and 10 residential buildings in 1817, 69 inhabitants in 1861 and 69 inhabitants and 12 residential buildings in 1961.

On January 1, 1972, the community of Schönbrunn was incorporated into the Floß market.
