Boxdorf is part of the Floß market in the Upper Palatinate district in the Neustadt an der Waldnaab district .

Geographical location

Boxdorf is located about 500 meters south of Floß between the 536 meter high dome in the east and the 544 meter high gallows in the west on the road from Floß to Theisseil .

history

11th to 14th centuries

In 1043, Count Palatine Aribo II gave the village of Boxdorf to the Weißenohe monastery, which he had founded .

Boxdorf (also: Pokstorf, Poxdorf, Poxtorff) was listed in the Lower Bavarian Salbuch . Boxdorf had 4 farms at that time. Its residents had to deliver 8 mutt wheat, 8 mutt grain (rye), 20 mutt oats, 4 pigs and 4 mutt hops every year. Goetfrid Haekchel was named as the owner of Boxdorf. This Salbuch comes from the period between 1269 and 1320. Boxdorf was also mentioned in the Bohemian Salbüchlein . 15th century

Boxdorf is recorded in the Salbuch from 1416/1440. The following five farming families in Boxdorf were named: Leb, Vlraich Herolt, Christiann Menndel, Vllmann, Trappen. All five farmers had to provide nachzill , but bustards only had to provide 1/2 nachzill. As crowd services , Leb, Vlraich Herolt, Christiann Menndel and Vllmann had to carry dung, plow, back wood and fertilize if requested. The annual taxes for all 5 farms together amounted to 6 mutt grain, 4 mutt wheat, 20 mutt 1 eightl oats, 8 eightl hops, 32 cheese, 240 eggs, 4 chickens, 4 pigs, 1 wake or 10 pfennigs. Cash had to be paid by the 5 farmers together at Walburgi and at Michelstag each 3 pounds, 60 pfennigs.

The following four teams were recorded for Boxdorf: Lorennz Minner, Paulus Wiedmann, Steffan Stich, Steffan Khuner.

The execution site of Floß with gallows and wheel was near Boxdorf. The executioner came from Burglengenfeld.

17th century

During the Thirty Years' War in 1620 and 1621 the Mansfeld soldiers marched through Boxdorf. They robbed the farmers of 1 musket and 1 bandolier , 1 sheep, 1 ox and 2 horses. A list of damages for Boxdorf from 1621 showed a total of 37 guilders.

In 1650 the hereditary homage to Count Palatinate of Palatinate-Sulzbach Christian August took place in the courtyard of the Friedrichsburg in Vohenstrauss . Boxdorf appears on the tribute list with the 4 farm owners: Hannß Beer, Michael Stich, Paulus Lang, Hannß Ferr.

In 1652 Boxdorf is described with 4 farms. Its inhabitants at that time were 3 married couples, 1 single, 8 children. The cattle consisted of 16 oxen, 11 cows, 10 young cattle, 8 pigs and 12 sheep.

18th century

A description of the Princely Nursing Office Floßerbürg from 1704 recorded 4 teams, 4 farms for Boxdorf.

In a historical-statistical description of the Floß maintenance office from 1794, 4 farmers, 1 cottage owner, 1 shepherd, a total of 46 residents were listed for Boxdorf.

By 1800 Boxdorf had 6 houses and 51 residents.

19th century to the present

Boxdorf became a tax district at the beginning of the 19th century . In addition to Boxdorf, the hamlet of Kühbach also belonged to the Boxdorf tax district. The Boxdorf tax district had a total of 93 residents and 10 residential buildings.

Boxdorf belonged to the rural community Schönbrunn. The rural community Schönbrunn consisted of the villages Schönbrunn, Boxdorf, Hardt and Haupertsreuth and the hamlets of Kühbach and Würzelbrunn. The village Boxdorf had 51 inhabitants and 6 residential buildings in 1817, 47 inhabitants in 1861 and 115 inhabitants and 21 residential buildings in 1961.

In 1946, Jews who had survived the Holocaust founded an agricultural training camp in Boxdorf. It was organized as a kibbutz and was intended to prepare people for life in Israel.

On January 1, 1972, the community of Schönbrunn and with it Boxdorf was incorporated into the Floß market.
