Gösen is part of the Floß market in the Upper Palatinate district in the Neustadt an der Waldnaab district .

Geographical location

Gosen is about two kilometers northeast of Floß on the east bank of the Gösener Bach 500 meters north of the state road 2395 .

history

13th and 14th centuries

They first recorded mention of Gösen: dates (also Geizzen, Gesen, Jesen) from the year 1261. In a document confirming Ludwig Count Palatine of the Rhine and Duke of Bavaria the Abbot John of the monastery Waldsassen the patronage right on Erlbach (= Ellenbach) Uelsenreuth ( = Ilsenbach) and Geizzen (= Gosen) and the tithe in Slattin (= Schlattein).

Gosen was listed in the Lower Bavarian Salbuch . This Salbuch comes from the period between 1269 and 1320. The following localities belonging to Floß were named in this directory: Bergnetsreuth, Boxdorf, Diepoltsreuth, Ellenbach, Gösen, Grafenreuth, Hardt, Haupertsreuth, Kalmreuth, Niedernfloß, Oberndorf, Pauschendorf, Ritzlersreuth, Schlattein, Schönberg, Weikersmühle, Welsenhof, Würnreuth, Würzelbrunn.

Gosen was also mentioned in the Bohemian Salbüchlein . A farmer Nikel in Gosen has to pay 60 eggs and 8 cheeses as tax. The Böhmisches Salbüchlein contained records from the period from 1366 to 1373 for all the places that were mentioned in the Lower Bavarian Salbuch cited above and also Plankenhammer as hamer zu Mekenhofen .

15th and 16th centuries

Gösen is recorded in the Salbuch from 1416/1440. The taxes for Gosen amounted to 8 cheese, 60 eggs, 3 shillings per year.

17th century

During the Thirty Years' War in 1620 and 1621 the Mansfeld soldiers marched through Gosen. They robbed the farmers of money, cattle, grain, food, clothing, linen, beds, copper pans and pots, tools, weapons, etc., fished the ponds, and burned and destroyed the farms. A damage list for Gosen from 1621 showed a total damage of 371 guilders and 15 cruisers.

In 1650 the hereditary homage to Count Palatinate of Palatinate-Sulzbach Christian August took place in the courtyard of the Friedrichsburg in Vohenstrauss . Gösen appears on the homage list with the 4 farm owners: Hannß Jung, Georg Stahl, Hannß Stahl, Michael Jaccob.

In 1652 Gösen is described as having 2 half yards and 1 estate. Its inhabitants at that time were 3 married couples, 4 underage children, 1 adult child. The cattle consisted of 1 horse, 8 oxen, 7 cows, 13 young cattle and 5 pigs.

18th century

A description of the Princely Nursing Office Floßerbürg from 1704 recorded 4 teams, 2 half farms, 2 Gütlein for Gosen.

In a historical-statistical description of the Floß nursing office from 1794, 2 farmers, 2 Gütlers, 1 shepherd, a total of 37 residents were listed for Gösen.

By 1800 Gosen had 8 houses and 66 inhabitants.

19th century to the present

At the beginning of the 19th century, Gösen became a tax district and also a rural community . In addition to Gosen, the Gosen tax district also included the village of Konradtsreuth, the hamlet of Plankenhammer and the wasteland of Weikersmühle. The tax district of Gosen had a total of 176 inhabitants and 24 residential buildings.

The village of Gösen had 75 inhabitants and 9 residential buildings in 1817, 59 inhabitants in 1861 and 90 inhabitants and 17 residential buildings in 1961. On January 1, 1972, the community of Gösen was incorporated into the Floß market.
