Meierhof is part of the Floß market in the Upper Palatinate district in the Neustadt an der Waldnaab district .

Geographical location

The wasteland of Meierhof is about three kilometers west of Floß on the western slope of the 501 meter high dome .

history

14th to 16th century

Meierhof (also: Maernhof, Mairhoff, Mayrhoff, Mayerhoff) is mentioned for the first time in the Duke's Surbar from 1301. Its owner was Heinrich Wildenawer. Every year he had to deliver 4 mutt wheat and a tithe on garden crops.

Meierhof was listed in the Salbuch from 1416/1440 as a bailiwick . The following 2 farming families in Meierhof were named: Künstwoll (also: Kunffwall), Mairhoffer. Both farmers had to provide Nachzill . The taxes for the 2 farms together amounted to 2 eight liters of oats, 4 cheese, 54 eggs, 2 chickens in the year.

This Salbuch, with information about the localities belonging to Floß, dates from the period 1416 to 1440. The following localities belonging to Floß appeared in it: Bergnetsreuth, Boxdorf, Diepoltsreuth, Ellenbach, Fehrsdorf, Gailertsreuth, Gösen, Grafenreuth, Hardt, Haupertsreuth, Konradsreuth, Meierhof, Niedernfloß, Oberndorf, pack village, Ritzlersreuth, Schlattein, Schönberg, Welsenhof, Wilkershof, Würnreuth, Würzelbrunn. Two teams were recorded for Meierhof: Linhardt Zanner, Michell Peer.

In 1560 and 1570 Balthasar von Schirnding had two farms in Meierhof as a fief. In 1582 and 1586, Hans Erhard von Schirnding had two farms in Meierhof as a fief.

17th century

During the Thirty Years' War in 1620 and 1621 the Mansfeld soldiers marched through Meierhof. In doing so, they robbed the farmers of 6 guilders, 1 foal, 1 calf, 8 sheep, 16 geese, 3 ducks, 8 chickens, 4 measures of lard, 1 saddle, 1 rifle, 2 copper cooking pots, 2 sheets, 3 tablecloths, 3 sacks and items of clothing and shoes. 4 ponds were dug up and fished out. 1 oven, 3 doors and a window were smashed. A list of damages for Meierhof from 1621 revealed a total of 109 guilders and 32 cruisers.

In 1650 the hereditary homage to Count Palatinate of Palatinate-Sulzbach Christian August took place in the courtyard of the Friedrichsburg in Vohenstrauss . Meierhof appears on the tribute list with the 2 farm owners: Georg Beer, Gabriel Beer.

In 1652, Meierhof is described as having 2 farms. Its inhabitants at that time were 2 farmers, namely 1 married couple, 1 widower, 2 underage children, 1 adult child. The cattle consisted of 6 oxen, 4 cows, 8 young cattle, 6 pigs and 5 sheep.

18th century

A description of the Princely Nursing Office Floßerbürg from 1704 recorded 2 teams, 2 farms for Meierhof.

In a historical-statistical description of the Floß maintenance office from 1794, 2 farmers, 1 shepherd, a total of 24 residents were listed for Meierhof.

Around 1800 Meierhof had 4 houses and 27 residents.

19th century to the present

Meierhof belonged to the Gailertsreuth tax district, which was founded in the early 19th century and was also a rural community . In addition to Gailertsreuth and its mill, the hamlets of Niedernfloß and Oberndorf and the wastelands of Meierhof and Würnreuth also belonged to the Gailertsreuth tax district. The tax district Gailertsreuth had a total of 184 inhabitants and 29 residential buildings.

The immediate rural community of Gailertsreuth initially consisted of the hamlets of Gailertsreuth, Niedernfloß and Oberndorf, the deserted Gollwitzerhof, Meierhof and Würnreuth. From 1946 the community of Diepoltsreuth was added with the hamlets of Diepoltsreuth and Ritzlersreuth and the wastelands Schnepfenhof and Schönberg.

The village of Meierhof had 22 inhabitants and 3 residential buildings in 1817, 28 inhabitants in 1861 and 11 inhabitants and 2 residential buildings in 1961. On January 1, 1972, the community of Gailertsreuth and thus Meierhof were incorporated into the Floß market.
