The Alliance for Social Justice and Human Dignity e. V. ( BüSGM ) advocates compliance with human rights, among other things. The United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights is one of the foundations of its work . The highlight of the association's events is the awarding of the prize for solidarity and human dignity.

founding

The BüSGM was initiated in 2005 by the trade unionists Peter Dietrich ( GEW ), Gert Julius ( ver.di ) and Lothar Nätebusch ( IG BAU ) and founded in 2006 as a non-profit association.

Self-image

The association essentially aligns its activities with the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights . In the statutes the association undertakes to

  • Promotion of the democratic state through the preservation and promotion of democracy in the Federal Republic of Germany,
  • Organization of public events on political issues,
  • Honoring and recognizing people who are actively committed to promoting the democratic state, solidarity and human dignity,
  • Submission of offers on political and historical education.

Membership in the association is possible regardless of affiliation to parties and other organizations, as long as these are not directed against the goals of the association. The association develops its entire activity according to the principles of solidarity and mutual respect.

In 2007 a discussion event organized by the BüSGM on the work of the secret services in the Tempelhof town hall was canceled. The district mayor of Tempelhof-Schöneberg had the approval for the event withdrawn after it became known that former Stasi officers were to perform there.

Every year in May, the Alliance for Social Justice and Human Dignity organizes the event “Red Songs Against Brown Mob”, in which anti-fascists take part.
