During the Thirty Years' War in 1620 and 1621 the Mansfeld soldiers marched through courtyards. They robbed the farmers of money, cattle, grain, food, clothing, linen, beds, copper pans and pots, tools, weapons, etc., fished the ponds, and burned and destroyed the farms. A list of damages for farms from 1621 showed a total of 330 guilders and 7 cruisers.

In 1650 the hereditary homage to Count Palatinate of Palatinate-Sulzbach Christian August took place in the courtyard of the Friedrichsburg in Vohenstrauss . Höfen appears on the tribute list with a farm owner: Hannß Lindtner.

In 1652, Höfen is described as 1 courtyard. Its residents at that time were 1 married couple, 2 children. The cattle consisted of 4 oxen, 3 cows, 3 young cattle and 2 pigs.

Around 1800 Höfen was a wasteland with 2 houses and 20 residents.

The hamlets Grafenreuth, Diebersreuth and Steinfrankenreuth and the wasteland Höfe belonged to the tax district as well as to the rural community Grafenreuth.
