Hauptertsreuth is part of the Floß market in the Upper Palatinate district in the Neustadt an der Waldnaab district .

Geographical location

Hauptertsreuth is about three kilometers southeast of Floß in the headwaters of Girnitz and Hardtbach on the western slopes of Lohe, Pointen, Tannenwiesen and Steinhübel.

13th and 14th centuries

Hauptertsreuth (also: Haertweigsried, Hartweigsreut, Hertweigsreut, Herpersreuth, Herperreuth, Herperßreut, Herpersrieth) was listed in the Lower Bavarian Salbuch . The Rugerinn von Haupertsreuth was mentioned here for the first time. She had to hand over 2 mutt 1 eight liters of grain (rye) and 2 mutt oats. In addition, an Ulrich Fritschenhofer was named as the owner of 2 farms in Hauptertsreuth. This Salbuch comes from the period between 1269 and 1320. The following localities belonging to Floß were named in this directory: Bergnetsreuth, Boxdorf, Diepoltsreuth, Ellenbach, Gösen, Grafenreuth, Hardt, Haupertsreuth, Kalmreuth, Niedernfloß, Oberndorf, Pauschendorf, Ritzlersreuth, Schlattein, Schönberg, Weikersmühle, Welsenhof, Würnreuth, Würzelbrunn.

Hauptertsreuth was also mentioned in the Bohemian Salbüchlein . Here the Rugerinn (also Rudgerin) was mentioned with a tax of 2 mutt grain, one eight liter of wheat and 2 mutt oats. In addition, Marsch Dreswitzer was named as the owner of a farm with a tax of 1 pig, 1 mutt wheat, 1 mutt grain, 5 mutt oats, 1 mutt hops, 12 cheese and 60 eggs. 15th and 16th centuries

Hauptertsreuth is recorded in the Salbuch from 1416/1440. In Haupertsreuth were listed as owners: Hannß Nörtwein, Jorg Renner, Hainrich Pommer, who for Nachzill was required. The following five teams were recorded for Hauptertsreuth: Erhardt Pieber, Augustin Lanng, Paulus Pockh, Michel Stahell, Hanns Peer.

17th and 18th centuries

During the Thirty Years' War in 1620 and 1621 the Mansfeld soldiers marched through Hauptertsreuth. They robbed the farmers of money, cattle, grain, food, clothing, linen, beds, copper pans and pots, tools, weapons, etc., fished the ponds, and burned and destroyed the farms. A list of damages for Hauptertsreuth from 1621 showed a total of 658 guilders and 36 cruisers.

In 1650 the hereditary homage to Count Palatinate of Palatinate-Sulzbach Christian August took place in the courtyard of the Friedrichsburg in Vohenstrauss . Hauptertsreuth appeared on the homage list with the 5 farm owners: Georg Pokh, Adam Lang, Erhardt Eyßmann, Uhlrich Beer, Christoph Bieber.

In a historical-statistical description of the Floß maintenance office from 1794, 3 farmers, 2 Gütlers, 1 shepherd, a total of 48 inhabitants were listed for Hauptertsreuth.

Hauptertsreuth had 9 houses and 69 inhabitants around 1800.

19th century to the present

Hauptertsreuth belonged to the tax district and the rural community of Schönbrunn, which were formed at the beginning of the 19th century. In addition to Schönbrunn, the Schönbrunn tax district also included the villages of Hardt and Haupertsreuth and the hamlet of Würzelbrunn. The Schönbrunn tax district had a total of 241 residents and 34 residential buildings.

The rural community Schönbrunn consisted of the villages Schönbrunn, Boxdorf, Hardt and Haupertsreuth and the hamlets of Kühbach and Würzelbrunn. The village of Haupertsreuth had 79 inhabitants and 10 residential buildings in 1817, 81 inhabitants in 1861 and 43 inhabitants and 10 residential buildings in 1961.

On January 1, 1972, the community of Schönbrunn and thus also Haupertsreuth was incorporated into the Floß market.
