from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rebecca Hohlbein (born July 27, 1977 in Neuss ) is a German children's book and fantasy author . She is the daughter of the famous fantasy authors Wolfgang and Heike Hohlbein .

Hohlbein became enthusiastic about literature at an early age and allegedly wanted to become a writer at the age of nine. After graduating from vocational school, she completed her advanced technical college entrance qualification at the Friedrich-Spee-Kolleg in Neuss, specializing in German and English. She wrote her first short stories and children's books under a pseudonym , because she agreed with her father that she wanted to build her own writing career and not only benefit from his name. Her novels , which were published under her real name, are characterized above all by the attempt to build a bridge between youth books and fantasy novels . Hohlbein is married, has two children and lives in the Hoisten district of Neuss .
