Rebutia leucanthema is a species of plant in the genus Rebutia from the cactus family(Cactaceae).
description
Rebutia leucanthema grows individually with spherical to short cylindrical, dark green to purple bodies. The bodies reach heights of up to 7 centimeters with diameters of up to 3.5 centimeters and have a barely pronounced beet root. The 13 to 14 ribs are arranged in a spiral and clearly divided into humps. The oval areoles on it are brown. The black central spine , which can also be missing, is up to 7 millimeters long. The 7 to 8 radial spines are spread out, brown with a darker base and up to 6 millimeters long.
The white to pink flowers are up to 2.5 inches long and reach the same diameter. The spherical fruits are dark purple and have a diameter of up to 5 millimeters.
Distribution and systematics
Rebutia leucanthema is common in Bolivia in the Chuquisaca department . The first description was published in 1975 by Walter Rausch (* 1928).
