Rebutia minuscula is a species of plant in the genus Rebutia from the cactus family(Cactaceae).
description
Rebutia minuscula grows sprout with flattened, spherical, cloudy green bodies and forms large groups. The bodies reach a diameter of up to 5 centimeters and have fiber roots. The 16 to 20 ribs are divided into low, clearly recognizable humps. The very small circular to elliptical areoles on it are brownish. The fine, whitish 25 to 30 thorns cannot be divided into central and radial spines. They are between 1 and 3 millimeters long.
The bright red, sometimes yellow or white, flowers are 3.5 to 6.5 inches long and have a diameter of 2.5 to 4 inches. They usually appear very numerous at the base of the body. The spherical fruits are red and have a diameter of up to 3 millimeters.
Distribution, systematics and endangerment
Rebutia minuscula is distributed in northern Argentina in the provinces of Salta and Tucumán at altitudes of 1700 to 2800 meters.
The first description was published in 1895 by Karl Moritz Schumann . Nomenclatory synonyms are Echinocactus minusculus F.ACWeber (1896), Echinopsis minuscula (K.Schum.) FACWeber (1896) and Lobivia minuscula (K.Schum.) HPKelsey & Dayton (1942).
In the Red List of Threatened Species of the IUCN , the species is listed as " Least Concern (LC) ". H. listed as not endangered.
