The Rector Ridge is a massive and up to 2150 m high mountain ridge in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Quartermain Mountains it rises at the head of the Beacon Valley between the Friedmann Valley and the Mullins Valley .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1992 after Jack Brown Rector Jr. (* 1946) of the United States Navy , commander of the Navy unit VXE-6 in Antarctica from May 1987 to May 1988.
