Richard "Red" Amick (born January 19, 1929 in Kansas City , † May 16, 1995 in Crystal River ) was an American racing driver .

Career

Red Amick started twice at the Indianapolis 500 miles - they were part of the Formula 1 World Championship from 1950 to 1960 . In 1959 he retired on the 45th lap on a Kurtis Kraft -500C- Offenhauser due to an accident. In 1960 , this time on an Epperly -Offenhauser, he managed the full distance of 200 laps and finished eleventh. Red Amick drove in the AAA National Series in the 1950s .
