Red City Radio is an American punk rock band from Oklahoma City .
Band history
Red City Radio was founded in 2007 by Garrett Dale ( vocals , guitar ), Ryan Donovan (guitar), Jonathan Knight ( bass ) and Dallas Tidwell ( drums ). First release was the EP To the Sons & Daughters of Woody Guthrie (re-released in 2012). Two split EPs followed, one with The Great St. Louis and one with The Gamits . In 2011 the debut album The Dangers of Standing Still was released on the Gunner Records label .
On October 21, 2013, the second album Titles was released , which was produced by Stephen Egerton ( Descendents and ALL ).
style
Red City Radio plays melodic punk rock with a deep, rough voice like Chuck Ragan or Chris Wollard (both Hot Water Music). Musically, the band lies somewhere between Hot Water Music , Gaslight Anthem and Lifetime . Were the early releases still prototypical punk rock American embossing, have been the album Titles also rockier influences recognizable, such as the rather unusual in punk rock solos . The texts are predominantly of a personal nature and describe the subjective feeling in different situations.
