Red Hamilton

William E. "Red" Hamilton (born June 10, 1926 in Decatur , Illinois , † July 20, 2019 in Victorville ) was an American racing driver .

Career

Hamilton mainly drove midget and sprint car races. In addition, two races for the AAA National Series started in 1952 . At the race in Denver he was only able to place himself in 16th place after a fifth place on the grid, at his second race in San José he was stopped by a gearbox failure. For the Indianapolis 500 mile race he could not qualify in the same year.

Hamilton lived in Hesperia , California until his death .
