The Rede Sustentabilidade , short form REDE or RS (German network sustainability ), is a Brazilian political party . It was founded in February 2013 by former presidential candidate and environment minister Marina Silva , who previously belonged to the Partido Verde ( Green Party ).

Due to a lack of signatures, REDE was not registered with the Supreme Electoral Court (TSE) in 2014 and could not take part in the 2014 elections in Brazil . The entry with the TSE took place on September 22, 2015. The party has the party number 18, its colors are cyan, orange and green. The president is Pedro Ivo de Souza Batista .

The party is center-left . The party's most important agenda items are environmental protection , which is regulated by the state with the aim of sustainable development , and the reduction of social inequality .

Mandates

So far (as of August 2018), REDE has one senator (out of 81), two federal deputies (out of 513), twelve (out of 1024) deputies in individual states, seven city prefects (out of 5570 mayors) and 180 city councilors (out of 56,810) in electoral offices .

On August 4, 2018, Marina Silva was run as a presidential candidate for the 2018 elections in Brazil . An electoral coalition has been agreed with the Green Party , whose member Eduardo Jorge Martins Alves Sobrinho is to run for vice-president.
