Reel recordings
Reel Recordings was a Canadian jazz label that existed from 2007 to 2013.
The independent label Reel Recordings was founded in 2007 by Michael and Miki King in Dundas, Canada. Michael King, who died in 2015, also worked for the Cuneiform Records label and remastered archive releases. It specialized in the publication of archival recordings of the British jazz and fusion scene of the 1960s and 70s; published by Reel a . a. Recordings by Kevin Ayers , Ian Carr / Don Rendell , Lol Coxhill , Elton Dean , Bob Downes , Harry Miller , Mike Osborne , Soft Machine and Trevor Watts . The label released both previously unreleased recordings and some re-issues of important records by Ray Russell and Ken Hyder . The first album to be released by Reel was Pam and Gary Windo's Avant Gardeners CD . Archive releases also included Split the Difference , a May 1972 recording from London's 100 Club by a collective ensemble called Splinters (starring Jeff Clyne , John Stevens , Kenny Wheeler , Phil Seamen , Stan Tracey , Trevor Watts and Tubby Hayes ).
