Reformed Church Erlenbach ZH

The Reformed Church Erlenbach is a historicist church building on Lake Zurich .
history
A church consecrated to St. Agnes in Erlenbach was first mentioned in 1275 . Today's church was built in the neo-Gothic style from 1888–1891 according to plans by Friedrich Wehrli . Interior restorations were carried out in 1935 and 1972, followed by an overall restoration in 2004.
description
The hall church has a front tower with a pointed spire and a retracted polygonal choir . The silver bell Agnesli from 1371 hangs in the tower , but it is only rung at the turn of the year.
The interior is a well-preserved evidence of Reformed neo-Gothic in Switzerland. The trapezoidal strip ceiling still contains parts of the Gothic ceiling from 1497. The stalls, pulpit , table for gifts and organ prospectus are richly carved ( Orgelbau Kuhn , 1903, work from 1973).
In addition to the carvings, the rich ornamental paintings and the colored glass windows are typical elements of neo-Gothic sacred space design. The baptismal font from 1703 comes from the old church.
The cemetery is south of the church. There are several sculptures and a postmodern funeral hall made of glass and exposed concrete.
