Erlenbach , also called Erlenbach am Zürichsee , is a municipality in Switzerland . It is located on the lower right bank of Lake Zurich on the so-called Gold Coast in the Meilen district in the canton of Zurich .

- Area: 288.7 ha , of which 43.1% settlements, 24.2% agriculture, 22.6% forest, 9.7% traffic and 1.1% water.
The neighboring communities are Küsnacht in the north and Herrliberg in the south.
Erlenbach-Winkel is a prehistoric settlement on Lake Zurich in the area of the municipality of Erlenbach.

In connection with the old Zurich War , there were also fighting in Erlenbach: in 1444 the first battle took place near Erlenbach , in 1445 the second battle took place near Erlenbach .

- A silver cross in blue.
The municipal coat of arms shows a staff cross, which was taken in its original form from the coat of arms of the Johanniter . It dates from 1597 and refers to the duties of the Erlenbachers to the Johanniterhaus Küsnacht , which lasted until 1703. In the original from 1597 the coat of arms consists of a faceted paw cross on a black background.

Churches
There are two churches in Erlenbach:
- The reformed church Erlenbach stands on the lake shore. It was built in the neo-Gothic style between 1888 and 1891 according to plans by the architect Friedrich Wehrli .
- The Catholic Church of St. Agnes faces the Reformed Church and was built from 1974 to 1975. A sculpture by the artist Silvio Mattioli hangs on its facade .

The FC Blau-Weiss Erlenbach is a football club from Erlenbach. The club currently plays in the 5th league of the Swiss Football Championship. The home games are played on the Sonnenfeld.
