Rudolf Aeberly

Rudolf Aeberly also Rudolph Aeberly (born February 17, 1859 in Erlenbach , Canton Zurich ; † December 1927 there ) was a Swiss poet and farmer .

life and work

Rudolph Aeberly was born in 1859 as the son of a farmer in Erlenbach on Lake Zurich. Following the tradition of his father, he also took up the profession of farmer. He lived as a farmer and innkeeper in Erlenbach and was also known as a farmer's poet there in 1908 through his collection of poems, Pflug und Saitenspiel . In 1915 his second volume of poetry was published under the title 22 Grenz- und Kriegslieder . After his death in December 1927, the poems from his estate were published posthumously in the Zürichsee-Zeitung , No. 301, on December 24th. A year later, H. Muggli gave the works again on behalf of the heirs in the volume Last Garbe. Bundled from the estate of the late poet on the Pflugstein Erlenbach .
