Lutz Hagestedt

Lutz Hagestedt (born May 1, 1960 in Goslar ) is a German philologist and literary scholar . He is a professor at the University of Rostock .

Life

After graduating from high school in Goslar in 1981, Hagestedt did his basic military service in the armed forces. From 1983 to 1988 he studied literature , history , philosophy and German as a foreign language at the University of Bielefeld and the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . In 1994 he received a scholarship from the German National Academic Foundation in Munich with a dissertation on Similarity and Difference. Aspects of the conception of reality in Ludwig Tieck's late novels and short stories about Dr. phil. PhD. In 1994 he became press spokesman for Suhrkamp Verlag .

From 1998 to 2004 he was a research assistant at the Philipps University in Marburg . In 2004 he completed his habilitation with the thesis Siegfried Unseld and the Suhrkamp culture. A prosopographical contribution to the history of the publishing house and the subsequent appointment to professor for modern and newest German literature at the University of Rostock. Since 2007 he has been head of the Institute for German Studies at the Philosophical Faculty there.

He took part in the New Poetry Colloquium and held a leading position at the Marburg Literature Forum. Hagestedt is the author of lexicon articles in: Kindler's Literature Lexicon , Killy Literature Lexicon , Critical Lexicon for contemporary German-language literature , Critical lexicon for contemporary foreign-language literature and current editor of the "Kosch" ( German Literature Lexicon . The 20th Century ). He was also engaged as a literary critic for the Süddeutsche Zeitung and the Frankfurter Rundschau . He was also involved in setting up the online magazine literaturkritik.de and worked as an editor for the same. Hagestedt is a member of several scientific organizations u. a. the German Schiller Society and the Kempowski Archive Rostock.

He is married.
