Reformed Church Flerden
The Reformed Church in Flerden at Heinz Berg is a Grade II listed Evangelical - Reformed church in northern hillside above the village.
History and equipment
The church is first documented in 1466. The choir was rebuilt around 1500 in the pre-Reformation period. The structure of the nave goes back to a Romanesque predecessor church dated to 1300 .
The church tower on the west side of the facade is also late medieval . At its tip, above the sphere that shows the entire created world (at the same time the church tower button with time capsule ), there is a crescent moon symbolizing Mary , and at the top a star that stands for Jesus himself.
In the interior of the church, remains of a wall painting from the same period have been poorly preserved. The pulpit dates from 1759.
Church organization
For centuries, Flerden was connected to the other villages of Inner Heinzenberg in a pastoral community. Today it has merged with them and is looked after from Cazis and Thusis .
Within the Evangelical Reformed Church of Graubünden , Flerden is part of the Colloquium III Nid dem Wald .
