Reformed Church of Furna
The Reformed Church in Furna in the middle Prättigau is a Protestant - Reformed church under the monument of the canton of Grisons .
History and equipment
The church was built in the pre-Reformation period around 1490 in the late Gothic style. It was renovated in 1860, 1957 and the last time in 1993.
The interior of the nave is covered by a wood-paneled barrel vault . The polygonal choir is covered by a filigree star vault. In the middle there is a baptismal font , which according to the tradition of the Reformed denomination is also used as a sacrament table.
In the 1930s Furna and its church gained notoriety as the parish Greti Caprez-Roffler elected to the first pastor of Switzerland, although running a rectory was not by a woman at that time legally possible.
Church organization
The Evangelical Reformed Regional Church of Graubünden runs Furna as a small independent parish that is currently (as of 2012) cared for part-time from Jenaz , within the Colloquium IX Prättigau .
