The Reformed Church Kyburg is a church building in the village of Kyburg ZH .

history

A Katharinen chapel was first mentioned in 1379 . The essentially medieval structure of the nave was supplemented with the construction of a new choir in 1644 and a new spire in 1797. The church was last renovated in 1987.

description

The church is laid out as a simple hall church with a small rectangular tower choir . From the outside, the polygonal pointed tower helmet dominates the building. The facades are provided with epitaphs and arched windows. The most valuable element of the furnishings is the baroque font , which was made in the course of the renovation in 1644.

Surroundings

The church is located directly next to Kyburg Castle , which has the second sacred building in the village with the Romanesque castle chapel. The classical rectory was built in 1820–1823.
