The Reformed Church Langnau is a church building in the municipality of Langnau am Albis in the Sihltal , Switzerland .

history

According to Thalwil, the area of ​​Langnau was ecclesiastical in the Middle Ages . In 1706, the village community successfully submitted an application to the Zurich Council , in which they demanded the establishment of their own church. 1709–1711, the church could be built on a hill in the Oberdorf district . On the Ascension Day in 1711, the church and rectory were consecrated. The church was last renovated in 2008.

The church is a simple baroque hall church with a polygonal end . On the north side of the roof sits a generous ridge turret with a bell chair and tower clock, crowned by a pointed spire helmet. Oculus windows are located above the main entrance , the side facades and the choir are characterized by arched windows . There is a simple gallery on the south side. The choir area is as central liturgy zone created: the left is since 1973 the Mühleisen - organ (and its predecessor, the first instrument here, built in 1925 by Kuhn Organ Builders was the center front) in the middle of the baptismal font and the right the wooden pulpit .
