Reformed Church of Medels in the Rhine Forest
The Reformed Church in Medels im Rheinwald in the eponymous valley is a Protestant - Reformed church under the monument of the canton of Grisons .
History and equipment
In 1530, Medels, together with the other communities in the Rhine Forest, accepted the Reformation and subsequently parted with the centuries-long membership of the Misox , which remained in the old faith. The church was built in 1708 and served as a parish church for its own parish from 1726 to 1886, until Medels reunited with Splügen.
The church tower has a tent roof and is on the slope side in such a way that it protects the entrance area from avalanches or snow slides. The plain interior is dominated by a pulpit without a sound cover and a baptismal and communion table in the middle of the choir .
Church organization
The Evangelical Reformed Church of Graubünden runs Medels as the preaching place of the Rheinwald pastoral community within the Colloquium II Schams-Avers-Rheinwald-Moesa .
