The reformed church in Sent in the Lower Engadine is a Grade II listed Evangelical - Reformed church .

History and equipment

The central medieval sacral building in Sent was the Church of San Peder .

The oldest building structure at the present day bears witness to a Romanesque predecessor church of the late Gothic new building from 1496 under the patronage of Laurentius of Rome ( advises Baselgia San Lurench = St. Laurentius Church ). The tower as the landmark of the church and the village is a neo-Gothic building of a more recent date: it was the work of architect Nicolaus Hartmann from the years 1898 to 1900 and was restored in 1985.

In the choir there is a wall tabernacle from the time it was founded. The pulpit , originally housed in a chapel in Samedan that was then demolished, dates to the year 1712. In the center of the choir is an artistically simple baptismal font that is valuable in terms of age , possibly dating from the Romanesque period. The organ on the gallery was built in 1904 by Orgelbau Kuhn in a neo-Gothic case.

In 1778 the church was the scene of a turbulent Graubünden synod in the wake of the Herrnhuterstreite in Graubünden .
