Reformed Church Stein AR

The Reformed Church of Stein AR is a church building in Stein AR that was built in 1749 by Teufen builders Jakob and Hans Ulrich Grubenmann .

Building history

The construction of the church became possible thanks to the separation of the Stein von Hundwil community . The then little-known brothers Jakob and Johann Ulrich Grubenmann were commissioned. While it was Jakob Grubenmann's fifth church building project, this church building represents his first work for Johann Ulrich. The church was planned and built as a 20 meter long and 14 meter wide hall church with a polygonal choir . The roof construction in bridge construction supports the flat barrel vault of the church by hanging columns. This roof construction represents an essential step in the development of the carpenter's art.

Furnishing

The pulpit and font are from Gebhard Moosbrugger . The art nouveau paintings were made in 1903. Today's organ based on models by Franz Anton Kiene was manufactured in 1985 by Orgelbau Kuhn AG .
