Zizers Reformed Church
The Reformed Church in Zizers in Chur Rhine Valley is an Evangelical - Reformed church under the monument of the canton of Grisons . It was last restored in 1996/97.
History and equipment
The church is first documented in 1340 under the patronage of St. Andrew . With the start of the Bündner turmoil at the beginning of the 17th century, a Reformed parish was formed in Zizers, which remained in the minority, but was able to assert itself, so that Zizers became one of the rare parity villages in Graubünden .
For about three decades, the large St. Peter and Paul Church on Hauptstrasse was used simultaneously by both denominations before St. Andrew was transferred to the Reformed in 1644. In 1711 it was necessary to enlarge it to today's dimensions in accordance with the requirements of a reformed preaching church . 1907 was the spire of the church with copper plated. The organ is more recent and was installed in 1978.
On September 17, 2011, a fourth bell, cast in the Grassmayr bell foundry in Innsbruck , was raised and inaugurated.
