Reformed Church in Transcarpathia
The Reformed Church in Transcarpathia ( Hungarian : Kárpátaljai Református Egyház ) is a Reformed Church in Ukraine .
It has around 135,000 members, which is 0.3 percent of the total population of Ukraine and 10.8 percent of the population of Zakarpattia Oblast . At the head of their 103 congregations is a bishop with an official seat in Berehove .
The Reformed Church in Transcarpathia is the church of non-Catholic Hungarians in the south of the historical landscape of Carpathian Ukraine . It emerged from the Reformed Church in Hungary in 1923 and was part of it again from 1938 to 1945, when the Carpathian Ukraine again belonged to Hungary. After 1945 until the end of the Soviet Union , the church was exposed to state repression, which manifested itself in the flight or deportation of many pastors and in the attempt to integrate the reformed into the Baptist church.
The Reformed Church in Transcarpathia is a member of the World Reformed Federation . Your partner church is the Church of Scotland .
