Refrain question

A refrain question (also a follow-up question or question tag ) is a question attached to a statement . With this question the speaker wants to get the addressee to confirm the proposition, for example , or he wants to make sure the recipient agrees. The tag question, a leading question be, demand the listener's attention or just be a polite form.

Refrain questions appear more often in spoken language than in written language.
