The music album Regenballade is a work by rock musician Achim Reichel , which was released in 1978. It contains poetry set to music in folk rock style, especially classics such as Fontane's Herr von Ribbeck auf Ribbeck im Havelland or Goethe's Der Zauberlehrling . Reichel selected the eponymous poem Regenballade by Ina Seidel as the only poem in contemporary literature , which can also be heard in a rock version. The heirs of Seidel, who had died four years earlier, gave permission for this, according to Reichel convinced that the interest of a younger generation in her poetry would have delighted the poet.

Regenballade forms the third album in a series that dealt with nautical issues or the topic of water, alongside Dat Shanty Alb'm and Klabautermann . On the other hand, the album marks the beginning of Reichel's preoccupation with literary settings , which resulted in close collaboration with contemporary poets, for example Jörg Fauser . Reichel took up the concept again in his 2002 album Wilder Wassermann .

“When I was recording rain ballad, I felt so inspired by the lyrics at the time. [...] And when texts convey such a strong atmosphere, they resonate with me like music. So it wasn't difficult for me to make songs out of them. The pieces basically came about by themselves. "

- Achim Reichel

With a few exceptions, Reichel also played all of the instruments on this record.
