Regent Records was an American record label that had existed since the 1920s and later became a sub-label of Savoy Records for rhythm and blues , rock & roll and jazz .

On the Regent Records label , the 78s a . a. Released by the Al Trace Orchestra ( Linger Awhile ), the Lightning Trio, and other swing and dance music formations. In the late 1940s the company was taken over by Savoy Records.

Since then, Regent has released 78s, singles (including by Erroll Garner ) and around 30 jazz LPs. On Regent, Savoy released classical and dance music, especially rhythm and blues , early rock & roll and jazz by Dorothy Ashby / Frank Wess , Mildred Bailey , Milt Buckner , Wild Bill Davison , Billy Eckstine , Mary Ann McCall ( Easy Living ), Johnny Otis , Ben Pollack , Charlie Ventura and Joe Williams .
