Reginald "Reggie" Jamaal Evans (born May 18, 1980 in Pensacola , Florida ) is a former American basketball player who was active from 2002 to 2015 in the NBA . Evans was best known for his strong rebound work .
NBA career
After Evans was not selected by any team in the 2002 NBA Draft , he was soon signed by the Seattle SuperSonics . Due to his physical style of play, he won a place in the Sonics.
In his third year he started in all 79 games for the Sonic and averaged 9.3 rebounds in 23.4 minutes. However, under the new coach Bob Hill, he lost his starting place again.
In 2006 he moved to the Denver Nuggets . Here he managed the "feat" of achieving 20 rebounds at 0 points in one game, which Dennis Rodman last succeeded in 1997.
After two years in Denver, he was transferred to the Philadelphia 76ers , where he was increasingly on the starting line-up.
In the summer of 2009 he was transferred to the Toronto Raptors for Jason Kapono . Due to a foot injury, however, he came to his first use in February 2010 and got in the remaining 30 games, 11.5 rebounds on average.
He then signed a new contract with the Los Angeles Clippers , which he in turn left after a year to join the Brooklyn Nets . For the Nets he started in 56 of 82 games and got 11.1 rebounds on average. Against the Portland Trail Blazers , he got his best career values so far on March 27, 2013 with 22 points and 26 rebounds.
In February 2014 he and Jason Terry were transferred to the Sacramento Kings for Marcus Thornton . In his last season in the NBA ( 2014/15 ) he played 47 games for the Kings and scored 3.7 points and 6.4 rebounds in 16.3 minutes per game.
