Avgustyn Voloshyn I government

The Avgustyn Voloschyn I government , led by Prime Minister Avgustyn Voloschyn ( Ukrainian Авґустин Волошин , Czech Augustin Vološin ), was the second government of Carpathian Ukraine , the autonomous state of Czecho-Slovakia 1938-1939. She was in office from October 26, 1938 to December 1, 1938. She succeeded the Andrij Brodij government and was replaced by the Avgustyn Voloshyn II government .

Government formation

Voloshyn's first government was formed - after the intercession of German diplomatic circles in Prague - after the government of Andrij Brodij was dissolved as pro-Hungarian by the Czech-Slovak central government in Prague. The appointment of new ministers (to replace Julijan Rewaj and Stepan Fencik ) is said to have taken place at the request of the Prague government.

  1. ↑ The composition of the four governments of the autonomous Carpathian Ukraine and the only government of the independent Ukraine in 1938/1939 can only be read with reservations. The documents, especially about the last short-lived governments, are very imprecise and sometimes contradict each other considerably. For safety reasons, appropriate instructions are given by the individual governments using alternative sources. Both Ukrainian and Czech sources were used, as the autonomous Carpathian Ukraine was de facto part of Czecho-Slovakia and its governments were also subordinate to the central government in Prague. The fact that in many cases the individual ministers did not determine all areas of competence from the beginning and not all areas of competence are mentioned in the documents also makes things more difficult.
