Jaroslav Krejčí government
The Jaroslav Krejčí government , led by Prime Minister Jaroslav Krejčí , was in office in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia under German rule from January 19, 1942 to January 19, 1945. It followed the Alois Eliáš government and was replaced by the Richard Bienert government .
history
The Alois Eliáš government maintained secret contacts with the Czechoslovak government in exile in London , which is why Eliáš was arrested by the Gestapo on September 27, 1941 , formally released as prime minister and later executed. At the same time, the new Reich Protector Reinhard Heydrich issued a state of emergency. Krejčí's government was completely dependent on cooperation with the German Reich . As the direct representative of Hitler , the Reich Protector took over the interests of the German Reich vis-à-vis the Protectorate Government and thus the actual power of government in the Reich Protectorate . Since the protectorate was just out of the reach of Allied bombers, its economy delivered important war goods almost undisturbed until the end of the war. Krejčí's successor as Prime Minister was Richard Bienert in January 1945 .
