Jaroslav Krejčí
Jaroslav Krejčí (born June 27, 1892 in Křemenec na Moravě , † May 18, 1956 in Prague ) was a Czechoslovak lawyer and politician.
Life
After graduating from Charles University in 1915, Krejčí worked in the public sector in Czechoslovakia. From 1938 he was a professor at Masaryk University . The close friend of the Czechoslovak President Emil Hácha became Minister of Justice of the country in the Rudolf Beran I government on December 12, 1938 . It was in 1939 with creation of the German Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia and the Minister of Justice in the Government Rudolf Beran II and Government Alois Eliáš . From January 19, 1942 to January 19, 1945 he was Prime Minister as the successor to Alois Eliáš, who was arrested by the Germans in 1941 and executed in 1942 . His government was completely dependent on cooperation with the German Reich . Since the protectorate was just out of the reach of Allied bombers, its economy delivered important war goods almost undisturbed until the end of the war. Krejčí's successor as Prime Minister was Richard Bienert in January 1945 . After the end of the war, Krejčí was sentenced to 25 years in prison for collaboration and died in prison.
