Regina Bruder is a German mathematician and university professor . She is university professor for didactics of mathematics at the Technical University of Darmstadt .

Life and research

From 1971 to 1975, Bruder studied mathematics and physics at the Potsdam University of Education, graduating as a subject teacher. She then did research at the PH Potsdam on the methodology of mathematics teaching and received her doctorate in 1979 with the dissertation: Investigations on the effectiveness of student activities in task processing processes when consolidating mathematics teaching at the Abitur level. She received the research award of the PH Potsdam and was then a scientific assistant there until 1989. In 1988 she completed her habilitation with the thesis: Basic questions of mathematical methodological theory formation with special consideration of working with tasks. From 1989 to 1991 she was a university lecturer for methodology of mathematics teaching at the PH Potsdam and then until 2001 teacher for mathematics and physics at the private Odenwald School . She has been a university professor for didactics of mathematics at the TU Darmstadt since 2001 and has been the dean of studies for teacher training in the mathematics department at the TU Darmstadt since 2005. In 2007 and 2014 she received the Best E-Teaching Award, 2011 and 2013 awards for “good teaching” at TU Darmstadt. Since 1995 she has been co-editor of the journal "mathematik lehren" at Friedrich-Verlag.
