Regina Masli

Regina Masli (* 1940 ) is a former Indonesian badminton player . She was world champion with the Indonesian women's team in 1975 and runner-up in 1972 and 1978.

Career

In the 1972 Uber Cup final , the up-and-coming Indonesian team faced Japan, but lost 6-1. Masli remained without a win in both doubles with Intan Nurtjahja as a partner. In the first encounter they lost to Etsuko Takenaka and Machiko Aizawa with 5:15, 15:11 and 7:15, the second they lost to Noriko Nakayama and Hiroe Yuki with 8:15 and 8:15.

In the final of the Uber Cup in 1975 , the Indonesian team met Japan again and won 5-2 for the first time. Regina Masli won her two doubles with Minarni against Etsuko Takenaka and Machiko Aizawa and against Hiroe Yuki and Mika Ikeda .

In 1978 Japan took the trophy back and defeated the Indonesians 5-2. This time Regina Masli lost both doubles with Theresia Widiastuti against Etsuko Takenaka and Machiko Aizawa and against Mikiko Takada and Atsuko Tokuda .

In the individual disciplines she was first in mixed with Christian Hadinata at the Asian Games in 1974 . In 1976 she became Asian champion in women's doubles with Theresia Widiastuti .
