Regina Riel

Regina Riel (born January 18, 1982 in Waidhofen an der Ybbs , Austria ) is an Austrian social pedagogue and opera singer ( soprano ).

Life

Regina Riel attended the Stiftsgymnasium Seitenstetten , and then switched to the Federal Educational Institute for Social Pedagogy in St. Pölten, where she passed the matriculation examination. Before she turned to music, she worked as a social pedagogue.

She first took singing lessons at the St. Peter in der Au music school before moving to the St. Pölten Conservatory , where she took the subjects "Lied - Mass - Oratorio". In 2010 she graduated with honors from the “Solo Singing” course with a Bachelor of Arts at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz with William Mason, among others, and took part in a master class with Cheryl Studer .

In 2011 she received a Bayreuth grant from the Richard Wagner Association in Linz.

She completed the subsequent master's degree in “concert singing” at the Anton Bruckner Private University in autumn 2013 with distinction.

Riel has performed several times at the Brucknerfest Linz and was a member of the ensemble at the premiere of the drama opera "Joseph Fouchè" by Franz Hummel as part of Linz09 . She sang at the Volkstheater Rostock and made her debut on July 12th 2014 at the Lehár Festival Bad Ischl as Angèle Didier in the operettaDer Graf von Luxemburg ” by Franz Lehár . Riel is a member of the Ö1 Talent Exchange and a guest at concerts, song and operetta evenings.
