The Saar-Pfalz-Bus GmbH was a transport operator of public transport . It was created in 1989 under the name Regionalbus Saar-Westpfalz (RSW) from a regional rail bus company and was a wholly-owned subsidiary of DB Regio AG .

The traffic area extended over the Saarland and the West Palatinate . Regional areas were established for both areas: The Saarland regional area comprised the entire federal state of Saarland, the West Palatinate regional area comprised the districts of Kaiserslautern , Kusel and Südwestpfalz as well as the independent cities of Kaiserslautern , Pirmasens and Zweibrücken .

Since the timetable change on December 14, 2008, the name “Saar-Pfalz-Bus” was used in the new corporate identity using the brand name “DB Bahn”, and on March 25, 2009 the company was renamed from RSW Regionalbus Saar-Westpfalz GmbH to new name Saar-Pfalz-Bus GmbH .

Since August 16, 2015, the lines in the former regional area West Palatinate have been served by Südwest Mobil GmbH, a subsidiary of ORN Omnibusverkehr Rhein-Nahe GmbH, which also belongs to DB Regio . Saar-Pfalz-Bus GmbH was merged into ORN on September 6, 2016.
