The Register Procedure Acceleration Act (full title: Act for the Simplification and Acceleration of Register Law and Other Procedures , abbreviated RegVBG ) of December 20, 1993 is an article law which, among other things, changed the land register order and other land register and register law provisions.

On the occasion of the establishment of the unification of Germany , the Register Procedure Acceleration Act restored orderly ownership, e.g. As the re-use of WGT property regulated and the legal possibility created, in particular the land registers , but also important for the rest of the economy register as trade and Genossenschaftsregister to lead no longer on paper but in electronic form ( § 126 GBO , § 8 para. 1 HGB , § 155 , § 156 GenG ). At the same time, the establishment of a so-called automated retrieval process was approved, which enables the participants to inspect the land register and the auxiliary directories online if the legal and technical requirements are met.

The state justice administrations have so far made use of this option to a varying extent and with various technical solutions. In the 16 federal states, land registers are currently processed with two different software systems. The FOLIA / EGB system is used in Schleswig-Holstein and Baden-Württemberg, SolumSTAR in the 14 other federal states.

The electronic commercial register is kept in machine form as an automated file, whereby the entries must be recorded in a data memory and reproduced in a legible form with unchanged content over the long term. Anyone is permitted to inspect the commercial register for information purposes.
