Rehschaln is a district of the Fürstenzell market in the Lower Bavarian district of Passau .

location

Rehschaln is located on the southern edge of the Neuburg Forest on State Road 2118 about two kilometers north of Fürstenzell.

history

Rehschaln formed an outpost of the county of Neuburg on the border with Bavaria in the Steinharreramt . The three oldest estates Stapfl, Schwarzhuebholzer and Weißhuebholzer were mentioned as early as 1440 and 1523. The area was called Huebholz . The land register from 1674 names around twenty properties. The core of the settlement was the tavern on the summit on the road from Fürstenzell to Altenmarkt. It was given the name zum Reschhalmb (resch = steep, halmb = summit), while the rest of the corridor was initially still called Huebholz . Parts of the Huebholzes were repeatedly cleared from the inn. Only in the course of the 18th century did the name Rehschaln catch on for the settlement.

After the county of Neuburg was annexed to Bavaria in 1803, Rehschaln belonged to the tax district and then to the municipality of Altenmarkt . By 1961 the place had grown to 47 houses. When the municipality of Altenmarkt was dissolved, Rehschaln came to the Fürstenzell market on January 1, 1972.
