Reid Simonton (born March 30, 1973 in Calgary , Alberta ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who was active in the German Ice Hockey League for the Adler Mannheim and the Augsburger Panther .
Career
Reid Simonton first played in Canada in a university team, the Union College team . He was selected by the Québec Nordiques in the 1994 NHL Supplemental Draft , but never played in the National Hockey League . After a detour via the ECHL team of the Richmond Renegades and the Canadian national team , he moved to Finland to the Tappara Tampere team in 1997 , before moving to the Adler Mannheim in 1998 . In 74 games as a defender , he scored a total of five points scorer , including two goals. With the Adler Mannheim he was able to become German champion this season . After a detour in the British Ice Hockey Superleague to the Bracknell Bees , he returned to Germany to the Augsburg Panthers . In two years he scored 22 scorer points in 110 games, five of them goals. Then Simonton began the journey through the European ice hockey leagues. So he played in Austria , Great Britain and Denmark . Most recently he was active with the Coventry Blaze in Great Britain.
